La Sede di Verbania ha pubblicato dal 1938 al 1999 la rivista internazionale “Memorie dell’Istituto Italiano di Idrobiologia”. Dal 1999 la rivista ha preso il nome di “Journal of Limnology”. Il JoL è una rivista open-access, peer-reviewed, pubblicata da PAGEPress® per conto del CNR IRSA. Pubblica articoli, review e short notes relativi a tutti gli aspetti della limnologia: ecologia, biologia, microbiologia, fisica e chimica delle acque dolci, inclusi gli impatti delle attività antropiche, la gestione e la conservazione degli ecosistemi acquatici. Vengono considerati per la pubblicazione studi condotti a diversi livelli, da molecolare ad ecosistemico, su tematiche sia teoriche che applicate. Possono essere oggetto di pubblicazione anche proceedings di workshop, simposi e conferenze. Il JoL viene pubblicato con una cadenza di 3 numeri all’anno ed è disponibile gratuitamente on-line.
